With a very low environmtal footprint, glass can be endlessly recycled and up-cycled.
Every ton of glass that is recycled saves more than a ton of the raw materials needed to create new glass, including: 1,300 pounds of sand, 410 pounds of soda ash, 380 pounds of limestone, and saves 2 cubic yard of landfill space. In the USA around 7 million tons of glass is ending up on the landfill every year - or 280,000 semi truck loads.
Glass can be endlessly recycled and up-cycled with a very low environmental footprint.

The manufacturing process takes 100% curbside recycled glass powder and mixes it with a foaming agent.
The mixed powder is sent through a kiln and softened. During this process, the foaming agent creates bubbles within the softened glass and this creates foamed glass aggregates.
The manufactured foamed glass aggregates are approximately 15% of the bulk unit weight of typical aggregates.
This makes the material one of the lightest aggregates available on the market.
Foamed glass has a unique combination of properties that make it highly useful for a wide range of applications: it is lightweight, rigid, compression-resistant, thermally insulating, freeze-tolerant, nonflammable, chemically inert and nontoxic, rodent- and insect-resistant, and bacteria-resistant. Foam Glass Aggregates facilitate quick construction, have low transport costs, and it is easy to handle. The combination of properties makes Foam Glass Aggregates useful in construction, agriculture, horticulture, civil engineering, and environmental applications.
Construction stone, sand or rocks are heavy. Shipping and handling is costly with a high Carbon footprint.
Lightweight aggregates (LWAs) are less heavy than stone or sand.
Ulta lightweight aggregates like Foam Glass Gravel are saving the most shipping handlings costs and they are easy to install. 1 truck load instead of 5 truck loads
Foam Glass Gravel has been used in Europe for more than 35 years and it is now available in North America!
